This March, HOYA celebrated One Vision Day 2024 around the world. From Germany to Hungary, China to Vietnam, the UK, and Japan, HOYA teams led various initiatives to reduce our environmental impact, including ‘Clean Up Days,’aimed at reducing waste pollution around their offices and production sites.
One Vision Day activities have ranged from donating lenses to giving educational talks and promoting medical sustainability. However, Clean Up Days have had a particular impact by improving the spaces where we work and bringing our colleagues and communities together.
In Germany, our HOYA and SEIKO teams cleaned up around the company headquarters in Mönchengladbach, removing garbage from streets, sidewalks, and green spaces. In Japan, our team cleaned around the outside of the HOYA Akishima factory and gathered garbage from the nearby regional park. Meanwhile, HOYA’s UK team collected over 880 liters of rubbish when cleaning up their local area.
Simple actions lead to great impact, and we’re delighted that HOYA has been able to positively influence keeping our spaces green and sustainable, contributing to environmental protection around the world.
