New CEO of HOYA Vision Care

TOKYO, Japan – 23rd December 2024 HOYA Corporation (HOYA) today announces the appointment of Mr. John Goltermann Lassen as the new CEO of HOYA Vision Care, its eyeglass lens division, effective January 1st, 2025. Mr. Lassen will report to Mr. Daniel Nutu, President of HOYA Eye Health, HOYA’s umbrella company for the eye health related businesses.

 

Mr. Lassen has been with HOYA group since 2014, serving as the CEO of HOYA Surgical Optics, HOYA’s intraocular lenses division. Mr. Lassen brings over 35 years of experience in the healthcare industry, having previously held global leadership roles with companies such as GN ReSound and Maersk Medical.

 

Mr. Alexandre Montague, the current CEO of HOYA’s Vision Care division, will leave HOYA from April 1st, 2025, after a successful 5 years with the company. The executives will work together in the coming months to ensure a smooth transition.

 

Under Mr. Lassen’s leadership, HOYA Vision Care remains committed to continue building on its strong market position in Myopia Management as well as delivering innovative and competitive technologies such as high performing photochromic materials, lens designs and coatings while ensuring a high level of service reliability.
